Who We Are

It was 2015 when Shakun first experienced an adult wellness store in the Netherlands while pursuing her executive diploma. She hails from an Indian family (north of India) and had never seen one back in India, let alone be inside one. She self-taught herself about the business, asked questions to store owners, and realized that although adult wellness was a fast-growing vertical, it remained underserved mostly due to pre-conceived reputational perils. 

Her company TickleLife was born as an app, that was meant to be a platform to discuss and seek expert advice from experts and the community for a fulfilling sexual experience. With more than 5,000 people signing up in the first few days, the app slowly pivoted to becoming a medium for hook-ups and unattested wellness advice from users, so Shakun pulled the plug on the app. She then channeled her focus in building a network within the sexual wellbeing vertical which included women leading their own femtech and sextech brands, therapists & sex experts, and marketplaces for adult devices among others. She applied her prior marketing experience to create high-quality content, creating a censorship-free podcasting platform on TickleLife, hosting paid workshops, and building exposure for several businesses. 

But when traditional banks and payment gateways refused to take on her business because she was working within what the traditional financial world considered a “high-risk” sector, Shakun knew what she had to do. 

Her company TickleLife has also developed TickleCharge, a complete payment solution specializing in providing cost-effective payment processing services to high-risk merchants.

TickleLife via its suite of dedicated software, services, aims to keep businesses with higher-than-average regulatory requirements unshackled from constant fear of being banned, or deplatformed, leading to unexpected disruption in business.
